How this tool works

This tool answers three questions: who is on your ballot, what did they tell us about data centers, and where are those data centers.

Finding your races

You enter an address. We use it once, in the moment, to work out which districts it falls in and so which races you vote in. We do not store the address, save it to an account, or put it in a web address.

The result is a ballot identifier that describes only the set of races, never the place. Anyone with the same races sees the same page.

The questions

Every candidate on the ballot receives the same survey, whatever office they are running for. We wrote the answer options. Each option appears once, with everyone who chose it.

A candidate may instead write their own answer, or decline to answer. Both are shown, and a candidate who has not responded is listed as not yet responded.

How answers are published

Answers are published exactly as candidates submit them. We do not edit, shorten, or correct them. Once submitted, the original text cannot be changed; a candidate who wants to revise an answer submits a new one, and only the latest published version is shown.

How often data is refreshed

Data center records are refreshed daily from the FracTracker Alliance national tracker. Candidate answers appear when they are submitted and reviewed for format only.
